  • Direction by Craig Ilott and design by Josh MacIntosh, Craig Wilkinson and Matthew Marshall, combine to give a visually rich experience.
    GLAM ADELAIDE
  • The impressive projected video content (designed by Craig Wilkinson) is full of images recognisable for their part in a saturated media. Both the projections and Matthew Marshalls’ outstanding lighting design (which plays an integral role in enhancing the production’s electric vibe) are enormous assets to the show.
    THEATRE PEOPLE
  • Josh McIntosh‘s set is a classic nondescript rundown back-alley that can easily adapt as the scenes change with the brilliant use of projection.
    On The Town
  • Video projection enhances the detailed set and creates some amazing sequences.
    ADELAIDE THEATRE GUIDE
  • The lighting design by Matthew Marshall, Video Design by Craig Wilkinson and Set Design by Josh McIntosh were dynamic and dripping with energy.
    THE CLOTHESLINE
  • “The synchronisation of sound, vocal, dance, lighting and other audio-visual elements is paramount to the show’s success, and the precision of all involved here is hugely impressive.”
    THE UPSIDE NEWS
  • “Josh McIntosh’s set and the amazing lighting and video effects from Matthew Marshall and Brisbane’s brilliant optikal bloc helped to create the perfect backdrop for the story.”
    ABSOLUTE THEATRE
  • “All credit to Brisbane-based video design team, optikal bloc, for truly excellent work, making the visuals leap off the stage.”
    ARTSHUB
  • “American Idiot is the most exciting new rock-opera to appear on a Brisbane stage in over a decade.”
