    La Boite Theatre Company 10 – 21 Oct 2017

One the Bear is the latest from the international award-winning team Black Honey Company. Two best-bear friends raising a ruckus against the dystopian rule of hunters, spit rhymes and fuse feminist hip hop, afropunk and global music to tell their tale. One and Ursula demand more for their tribe as they explore identity, friendship, exploitation and appropriation in a celebrity-obsessed world. It’s basically a documentary.

    BRISBANE STAGE
  • One the Bear is an innovative work that takes its audience on a loud, proud and powerful journey in its smash of traditional notions of political theatre and show of how all theatre spaces should be for everyone.

  • Optikal Bloc’s video design added an entire layer of messaging and beauty to the set design, at times working as a coating of digital set and others as exciting video edits to extend on the storytelling.
