CRAIG WILKINSON, APDG // Creative Director
Craig Wilkinson is the Creative Director and Founder of award-winning video projects collective OPTIKAL BLOC, transforming stages, spaces and socials through live performance video design and video marketing campaigns. Craig has amassed an extensive portfolio in OPTIKAL BLOC's ten-year history and has enjoyed collaborations with some of Australia’s leading artists and arts organisations, whilst touring optikal bloc's work nationally and internationally.
Craig's most recent live performance video design works include the record-breaking stage adaption of Trent Dalton’s novel BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE (Queensland Theatre / Brisbane Festival / QPAC), LET’S BE FRIENDS FUREVER (The Good Room / Brisbane Festival / HOTA), SHAUN THE SHEEP'S CIRCUS SHOW (C!RCA / Aardman Animations / QPAC), the critically acclaimed ROALD DAHL’S FANTASTIC MR FOX (shake & stir theatre co / QPAC), and the latest international tour of one of Australia’s most successful theatrical exports, DEIN PERRY’S TAP DOGS (Broadway Entertainment Group) and the Australian and New Zealand tour of JIM STEINMAN'S BAT OF HELL: THE MUSICAL as Australian Associate Video Designer.
Craig is a proud and accredited member of the Australian Production Design Guild and is a season lecturer in Live Performance Video Design at the Queensland University of Technology.
JAKE LODDER // Associate Video Designer
Jake Lodder is a videographer, editor and motion graphics designer, achieving success as a freelance artist working between Toowoomba and Brisbane for the past twelve years. During this time, Jake was also a Senior Editor with production company Thru A Lens Media. In the live performance industry, Jake has worked as a video director, vision switcher and camera operator for professional, community and university productions at venues including the Empire Theatre, Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts and QPAC. Jake joined the optikal bloc team as an Associate Video Designer in 2022, already collaborating on video designs for HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL with Villanova College and Loreto College, and the Empire Theatre’s production of WE WILL ROCK YOU.
