Flora
Presented as part of the The Australian Ballet’s 2026 season, Flora is a bold new full-length collaboration with Bangarra Dance Theatre, uniting more than 35 dancers from both companies.
Marking their fourth creative partnership, this sweeping work traces the evolution of Australian plant life as a living witness to the nation’s history—charting cycles of growth, invasion, fire and regeneration, and reflecting the enduring resilience of Australia’s First Peoples. Led by distinctive choreography from Mirning woman Frances Rings, with an original score by Kalkadungu composer William Barton, and brought to life through evocative design and cultural consultancy, Flora is a powerful, visually rich dance experience that journeys across time, landscape and story.
Flora is a co-production between The Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre, commissioned by The Australian Ballet.
